EAT TO LIVE ~ FOOD AND COOKING

PHILOSOPHY

Eat to Live — My Food Manifesto

Food is one of the ways I enjoy life most.

Cooking, sharing meals, grilling outside, making something over a fire — these connect me to people and moments I care about.

Because of that, food shouldn’t punish me.

It should help me live well — with strength, energy, and freedom in the years ahead.

Principles

  • Joy matters.
A great burger, ski-lodge breakfast, perfect slice of pizza, or pie with family — these are part of a life worth living.

  • Extremes don’t work.
Heavy restriction eventually feels like self-punishment. I’m done with all-or-nothing.

  • Structure is a tool, not a prison.
Fasting, macros, walking, and “100 moves” help me reset — then I return to steady living.

  • Whole food first.
Cooking real food and minimizing processed stuff keeps me grounded and healthy.

  • I work with my rhythms.
Late morning hunger. Evening snacking. I plan for them instead of fighting myself.

  • Carbs aren’t the villain.
Bread, pastries, pizza, pie — I enjoy them intentionally, not mindlessly.

  • Freedom ranks high — and I protect it by staying healthy.
I’m shifting from speedboat living to tugboat pace: steady, sustainable, moving forward.

What that means

  • Mostly whole foods.

  • Regular movement.

  • Planned treats I truly enjoy.

  • Short seasons of structure when I drift — then back to balance.

I eat to live — and to live well:

with pleasure, steadiness, creativity, and enough health to enjoy the years ahead.
