Twin Lakes & Coeur d Alene Muni Golf, Pizza at Capone’s

Golf, Fishing and Familial Ground

Jake and I teed off at Twin Lakes at 7:30 a.m. under beautiful morning conditions. The pace of play was excellent, and it made for a perfect warm-up round to begin our golf expedition together. The course was in great shape, and it felt good to be back out on the fairways on a calm North Idaho morning.

After golf, we stopped by the boat locker before heading into Coeur d'Alene. A visit to Black Sheep Sporting Goods yielded a few additional fishing supplies as we continued preparations for our time aboard GUSTO. Took on a coffee mid-day at Kaffe Meister In Hayden.

Later in the afternoon, we met Austin at 4:30 p.m. for nine holes at the Coeur d'Alene Municipal Golf Course. The round carried a healthy dose of nostalgia. It was on these fairways that the boys first learned the game, and it felt special to have all three of us back together playing the same course years later. There is something satisfying about returning to familiar places and seeing how much life has unfolded since those early rounds.

After golf, we celebrated with a hot honey pepperoni pizza at Capone's before making the drive back to Twin Lakes. A full day of golf, family, and preparation for the adventures ahead left us pleasantly tired. We turned in for the night looking forward to whatever tomorrow might bring.
